I am writing to share my thoughts with you about the Congress I and its decline state in UP and Bihar state. Reason I am writing to you as I consider you as national leader and symbol, icon of youth and hope who in future can change the face of India. At present I am only sharing my thought about UP and Bihar congress party state and what I feel as childhood supporter of this great party a party who is here to preserve our independence and always ready to fight for individual basic right and problems.

Below are just mine thoughts about the party I have supported since childhood and will be doing all my life. If you wish I would be happy to share my ideas as how we can revive party in UP and Bihar.It’s just pain and hurt to see that Congress I decline state in UP and Bihar state. We are stuck in opposition seats in UP and Bihar assembly since long and nothing constructively has been done by state leadership in reviving the fortune of this great party. Both the states have provided many top leaders for party and for India as whole who has worked tirelessly day and night for the well being of peoples of India without discriminating on basis of cast, religion and states.We had some public debate about the decline state of party in these two states which gives almost more 100 seats in parliament but nothing constructively has been done to revive the fortune Congress I party.

I feel sorry to say that many leaders in state wing (State leadership) is not doing enough at the grassroots level. UPA government has done loads of things for poor people and in fact poor's are benefited with central our government policies but congress is not getting credit for same. Its harsh truth that our state leadership, district level leadership in UP and Bihar has failed to communicate our achievements and work to the Aam Adami. A party central leadership and government who are working all round the clock for AAM ADAMI is not getting credits for their achievements. There could be many reasons for this communication failure but for me very basic reason is our lacking of strong leadership at village, ward and district level. Communication and presenting skills of our local level leader are very poor, they has just failed to relate themselves with local people. Many people over the years have left the party or lost faith in our vision of India, because of these reasons. Unity and Loyalty is basic constraints for any party to survive in democracy. But unfortunately both these basic ingredients has been lost in these two most populace states which congress I desperately needs if they wish to come in power again in these states.Local or we can say district level or ward level leader needs motivation and big push to start working with locals for their problem and grief’s.

We need to start listening diverse view so that we don’t exclude people who has got different opinion on any particular matter to broader our base at grassroots level. We need to go back to basic to start creating membership in these states where most of population is not aware most of modern techniques, an active branch or local branch membership campaigns is best way to create memberships and start sharing our vision with them and start listening their problems. I have a Wish and Dream to see UP and Bihar under congress rule once again, I have Dream to see these two states start progressing, I have dream to see these two states have enough work and wealth so that people from these states don’t migrate to other state just for the ROTI, KAPADA.

I have a full faith in congress party leadership and the deep down believe in government pro poor work. I do know that government and party who work for AAM ADAMI will always rule. Our top leaders, central leadership are working hard enough for all section of community but our local leadership failed to communicate same to AAM ADAMI.I would be very honored if you give me chance to share my view and ideas with you and address my concern about congress party decline state in UP and Bihar State.

NEW DELHI, OCTOBER 1: In the Congress, grooming is not restricted to Rahul Gandhi alone. Starting next month, national officer bearers of Indian Youth Congress (IYC) will be required to upgrade their intellect to survive. As part of a new training programme, youth leaders will be shadow ministers — each attached to a Union Minister; required to read a book every two months and familarise themselves with sacred texts of major religions.
“If you go by previous pattern, a good percentage of youth workers become legislators, ministers or more. The new programme is to formally acquaint them to the challenges ahead,” says AICC secretary Sanjay Bapna who thought of the programme along with CWC member Oscar Fernandes.
The mechanism of shadow cabinet is usually meant for Opposition parties, deputing members to be constantly on the heels of ministers. The Congress, however, will get its ministers to train the youth attached to them. IYC leaders say the mechanism will equip them fight political opponents as well.

Some time in life strange things happen, some time we get unexpected things in our life, so it might be also possible that Communist may come in power by 2009. By looking the last may assemblies elections results of West Bengal and Kerala state and recent by elections in West Bengal, any one can sense or can have vision that it might be possible that in 5 years time, India might turned into Communist State. As soon as this dreadful dream become real ‘The Great India’s turned communist, the dream of becoming world power and economic power house will be shattered.

30+ years of Rule in WB: The world’s largest and longest-running democratically elected Marxist government governs India’s eastern state of West Bengal. In last May’s assembly elections the communists not only returned to power in West Bengal for a record consecutive 5-year term, but they also achieved a three-fourths majority. The followers of Marx and Lenin have handled the affairs of 80 million people of West Bengal for the past 30 years. 30 years is a long time, but what they have achieved in 30 years is main issue. Except recently taking a inspiration from China, West Bengals’s Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharya has pushed through an ambitious economic reform program with an approach more capitalist than communist. He has invited foreign investment, privatized state-owned companies and properties, and is pushing to make West Bengal a major Information Technology hub but West Bengal is still a state with high unemployment in spite of world-class skilled and intelligent labor force.

Two Faces of Communist in India:

When we look at center this same communist who has started ambitious economic reform in Calcutta are just doing opposite. They are trying hard to derail India’s growth, opposing essential privatization, foreign investment open economy etc. Left parties oppose every thing UPA government try to do in terms of FDI, Disinvestments etc. Congress-led UPA government is critically dependent on the support of the Left MPs. Look at their sorry state, every effort our honorable PM make to go further with open economy to increase investment in India, left (Red Bull) try to put pressure on government and amazingly they are getting the result they wanted. Many times they managed to put enough pressure on congress led UPA government that congress led UPA government has abandon their original plans or come with new version of it, which communist or left prepared it.

Personal Interest or Agenda:

Any intellectual can ask question when so many problems in coalition government and CPI (M) is not agreed on many critical issues with Congress then why can’t they withdraw support from congress led UPA government and force another general election? Why so many compromises?

In general theory because communist party has their own interest to be in power,

Communist wanted Indian Army action should stopped against Maoist group, which has been stopped.

Under UPA government rule, the Maoist in Nepal gain momentum and throws out the monarch rule, and setup so called democracy which in real terms is communism.

Recently communist parties were so vocal about return of the Office of Profit Bill by the President of India because they know that if bill didn’t pass on time, and election commission disqualified MPs from Parliament, it will big loss for them about 14-18 MPs including speaker of Parliament will loose the seat. Communist is trying hard to send this bill, with out amendments to President for reconsideration. They are also saying that only Parliament can decide on these matters, means President have got no right to intervene. In other words putting big question mark on our constitutions? Congress who led the UPA government had showed restrained reaction but the Communist Parties have launched a virtual onslaught on the Constitutional entities. While the President has not been directly attacked, criticism is implicit in statements by some Communist leaders that it is only the Parliament that can decide such matters. In other words the President of India has no powers to intervene.

The Supreme Court constantly is under criticism by Communist Party leaders on one pretext or the other. Their senior leaders have been virtually promoting a confrontation with the supreme judiciary on grounds that Parliament is not judiciable.

What they don’t understand or I guess they don’t want to understand, that we are democratic country and we got constitution and Parliament, it not communist Polit Bureau where no one is allowed to question against leaders. By challenging these Constitutional entities, the Communist Parties are betraying that their attitudes to the Constitution may be otherwise. They almost forget they are in power only because of Congress, they are not even All India political party, even today people say communist is regional party and mostly because on 30 year rule in West Bengal. Having 61 members in parliament out 500 wont give them a status of All India party.

At present they should understand, they are in centre only because of Congress I courtesy, which allowing them rule over India by proxy.

What will happen if Communist comes in power by next election?

Wheel back from liberalization
De-privatize
The country will have a lot of hidden economic problems
Entrepreneurial incentive will reduce
Less freedom or no freedom like Chinese people don’t have any sort of freedom.
No Human Right

In order for any society to be prosperous and stable, they need a mixture of capitalism, socialism and democracy. If any one of those three is too powerful, the system will eventually collapse. We NEED Democracy and Socialism in order to give society stability and every citizen a basic human right, but we also need capitalism in order for people to be motivated.

I just hope and pray that this will never happen to our India, not even in our wildest dream.

"The people of Jharkhand had given their mandate only to the NDA during the last Assembly elections. Gandhi Ji Satyagrah Vs President Bush Jhootagrah

These days 11 September has a more sinister meaning after two aero planes slammed into the World Trade Centre twin towers in New York in 2001. Another crashed into the Pentagon and a fourth plane crashed in a field, more than 300 people got killed and world has changed for ever.

But September 11th 2006 also has other significance too especially in India and South Africa. On 11th September 1906 Gandhi Ji started Satyagraha meaning “Truth (Satya) implies Love, and Firmness (Agraha) engenders and therefore serves as a synonym for force… that is to say, the Force which is born of Truth and Love or Non-Violence”.

On 11th September 1906 Gandhi chaired a meeting of more than 3000 Indians in Johannesburg to discuss a strategy for defeating and stand against the Asiatic Registration Ordinance, a statute that required all Indians immigrants should be register with government. This meeting proved to be critical in the development of Gandhi's strategy and the formation of the concept of Satyagraha.

He used this Satyagrah movement in India when he returned form SA in 1914 to win Independence from British Raj. A movement Satyagrah which shows the world the revolutionary power of nonviolence to counter racism in South Africa, colonial rule in India, and the economic exploitation of workers and human rights exploitations of blacks in US, has hold less or little meaning in today 11th September. Many leaders followed this Satyagrah path to send out the message of peace and humanity, from Martin Luther King to Nelson Mandela and many other world leaders.

Once Martin Luther King said

"Christ gave me the message, Gandhi gave me the method."
In other speech Martin Luther king said

“I firmly believe that the Gandhian philosophy of nonviolent resistance is the only logical and moral approach to the solution of the race problem in the United States.”

Today this history date which has sends out so many messages of love, tolerance, integration, non violence and respect for humanity is mostly remember as most violent date in history when terrorist killed more 3000 innocents in US five years ago. Every thing has changed in 100 years from Non violence to war.

This day Gandhi Ji has send the message of love and peace in 1906, and on 11th September 2006 President Bush sends out message of War and Conspiracy against other countries. Mr. Bush made a plan to attack Afghanistan and Iraq to safe guard the US interest saying these countries are responsible for attack on US, Iraq has Nuclear Bomb, Saddam Hussein has closed link with Al-Qaeeda, Afghanistan has Osama Bin Laden none has been found or reported even by his own agencies.

It surprise that same day 100 years ago, we started a movement to keep our basic human rights, fight against occupation and live in freedom, and just five years ago same day every thing has been taken away from us again. We can’t live peacefully anymore, most of our freedom has been taken away some by government some by terrorist, tolerance power and respect for other community has been lost some where.

Many Indians are facing post backlash of 9/11 2006, every one is under close scrutiny, profiling is common now a days. It’s all started again hate towards others, might be in different magnitude but sort of similar the one we had in 1906, that time we had problem with colour of our skin this time we have problem with particular community and religion. But I still have little hope that sooner or later another Satyagrah will come to fight against this Jhootagrah which is present in today’s evil world and will help us to get out of this mess, mess created by our corrupt leaders and corrupt religious preachers.

Indian's Too Are Racist?

After almost sixty years of independence, loads been done to improve our life style and thinking, we are on verge of becoming economic power, IT industries is bombing, many multinationals are heading towards India to get the benefits of out sourcing (BPO and KPO), the metro are getting crowded day by with migration of people from different states (obvious job reason). But main question and most pressuring question which India is still facing that castisim is racism? Are we Indian are most racist people? We complain about racist attacks and racism problem Indian face in Europe and in US, but we don’t realize that even in India we do differentiate the people on their colour, caste and religion. Aren’t we?

Well unfortunately it’s true that we do differentiate and make decision about the person, even with out knowing about his habits and thinking. Many villages are strictly segregated by caste, and the untouchables or Dalits (Harijans) are often forbidden to drink from upper-caste wells or to worship at their temples. Many people from lower caste in some villages are not allowed to sit with upper caste people or attend any ceremony of upper caste people.

I do remember when I joined the college, some students ask me my name so I just tell them my first name in introduction, they would insist on knowing the surname. I couldn't understand why - until later I realized that they wanted to get an idea about which state I belong to. So I understand even in universities skin colour, state-belonging is very important in the initial stages of knowing someone.

From my life experience especially here in UK, I was most appalled and shocked when finding out about Indian thinking. Mostly, because I was under the assumption that Indians- well particularly Hindus- were the most tolerant and accepting people.

But as I have learned, this is not the case. And the whole thing about them being open is totally off the mark (from what I have seen).

Most of the Indians I have met are just fine to work with or live alongside white people. Even to "score" with a white chick is cool for the young guys. But to get married with White girl or African origin girl is total different ball game. I know many guys who do have white girl friends and also have African origin girl’s friends but are shamed to bring in front of society. (Unless of course it’s just to get papers or stay in UK only).

Recently our political leaders as well as some general public are saying same slogan about Sonia Gandhi (Videshi). After 2004 election many parties were so against her to become PM not because she was congress president but because she is from Italian origin. It shame!! Well she might not have been the best PM in some peoples point of views but you cant deny anyone from acquiring government post because she is Christians or born in different country, because end of the day she married to Indian so she become Indian citizen, and our constitution don’t prohibit her to acquire highest office, so basically it’s a form of racism. The Indian Constitution explicitly allows naturalized Indians to hold the highest office, a provision inserted by the framers of the Constitution to allow Indians who had left the country during British rule to return and run for office if they desired. Whether this provision needs to be amended is a different issue. But the legality of a foreign-born leader is not in question. L.K. Advani leader of opposition which made Sonia Gandhi's Italian origin the mother lode of its campaign against her, was him self born in Sind, now a part of Pakistan. Section of India is so racist that they deny Gandhi the right to lead in government the party she led to victory in a democratic election.

Other example look at the matrimonial advert and TV programs you will find out, how much we are attracted for the colour of a mans skin, every matrimonial advert says, fair skin, beautiful and bla bla…In my opinion fairness equals talk of skin colour, which therefore equals racism.

The worst came after the Rahul Mahajan cocaine scandal, when Fatai was picked up by the Delhi police and kept in illegal confinement for three days. Why? They suspected he was a cocaine peddler. Says Fatai wryly, “Indians don’t want to make friends with a black man. Unless, of course, they get cocaine at discounted rates.” He echoes what most people of African descent will tell you in a candid moment: Indians are among the most colour-conscious and racist people in the world.

It hard to understand the complexity of Indian culture but we need to change our attitude as all human being are equal. As I will never able to understand how one service provider can become lower just by providing service to someone? How a person who is working as a carpenter, waterman and leather worker becomes lower than others for providing services to others?

The two-faces of India society will always be there. One face destroys all hope everyday and the other simply surprises us with daring hope, the moment you give up!

Congress wins Delhi University race all over again

NEW DELHI: The Congress-led National Students' Union of India (NSUI) won the Delhi University Students' Union elections once more on Saturday bagging three of the four seats at stake, including that of president. However, it lost the race for vice-president to the BJP-backed Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) by a wafer-thin margin of 35 votes, thus missing a clean sweep of the polls that it had accomplished last year. The NSUI retains the presidential post for the fourth year in a row with its candidate Amrita Dhawan cruising to victory by a comfortable margin of 4,722 votes. She secured 13,161 votes to beat her closest competitor, Gargi Lakhanpal of the ABVP, who polled only 8,439.

...after so much fickle and holdup, a supporter of the Congress I Party.

It feels a bit odd, I have to say. I haven't done anything political since I left Delhi University about eight years ago, and were hardcore supporter of the NSUI then. But university is a funny place where you have no real responsibilities and no money, so it's very easy to have strong black and white opinions. The real world is different, either thing is more complicated than I'd previously thought, or my mind has become more sophisticated.

Well having spent many months reading other political blogs, offering them a few observations and being occasionally entertained I have decided to join blogggers world. With some 11 month to the elections for the states assembly perhaps we can promote a few thoughts, generate small bits of debate and in moments of creativity off load some thoughts about where our efforts are heading.

I'm interested in what its like to be within an organization like the Congress I Party, how easy or difficult it is to get involved, and how much power I would have as a grassroots member. I'm also interested in how I'm going to change politically and personally through the Congress I party. Hopefully this blog can record that.
