Gandhi Ji Satyagrah Vs President Bush Jhootagrah

These days 11 September has a more sinister meaning after two aero planes slammed into the World Trade Centre twin towers in New York in 2001. Another crashed into the Pentagon and a fourth plane crashed in a field, more than 300 people got killed and world has changed for ever.

But September 11th 2006 also has other significance too especially in India and South Africa. On 11th September 1906 Gandhi Ji started Satyagraha meaning “Truth (Satya) implies Love, and Firmness (Agraha) engenders and therefore serves as a synonym for force… that is to say, the Force which is born of Truth and Love or Non-Violence”.

On 11th September 1906 Gandhi chaired a meeting of more than 3000 Indians in Johannesburg to discuss a strategy for defeating and stand against the Asiatic Registration Ordinance, a statute that required all Indians immigrants should be register with government. This meeting proved to be critical in the development of Gandhi's strategy and the formation of the concept of Satyagraha.

He used this Satyagrah movement in India when he returned form SA in 1914 to win Independence from British Raj. A movement Satyagrah which shows the world the revolutionary power of nonviolence to counter racism in South Africa, colonial rule in India, and the economic exploitation of workers and human rights exploitations of blacks in US, has hold less or little meaning in today 11th September. Many leaders followed this Satyagrah path to send out the message of peace and humanity, from Martin Luther King to Nelson Mandela and many other world leaders.

Once Martin Luther King said

"Christ gave me the message, Gandhi gave me the method."
In other speech Martin Luther king said

“I firmly believe that the Gandhian philosophy of nonviolent resistance is the only logical and moral approach to the solution of the race problem in the United States.”

Today this history date which has sends out so many messages of love, tolerance, integration, non violence and respect for humanity is mostly remember as most violent date in history when terrorist killed more 3000 innocents in US five years ago. Every thing has changed in 100 years from Non violence to war.

This day Gandhi Ji has send the message of love and peace in 1906, and on 11th September 2006 President Bush sends out message of War and Conspiracy against other countries. Mr. Bush made a plan to attack Afghanistan and Iraq to safe guard the US interest saying these countries are responsible for attack on US, Iraq has Nuclear Bomb, Saddam Hussein has closed link with Al-Qaeeda, Afghanistan has Osama Bin Laden none has been found or reported even by his own agencies.

It surprise that same day 100 years ago, we started a movement to keep our basic human rights, fight against occupation and live in freedom, and just five years ago same day every thing has been taken away from us again. We can’t live peacefully anymore, most of our freedom has been taken away some by government some by terrorist, tolerance power and respect for other community has been lost some where.

Many Indians are facing post backlash of 9/11 2006, every one is under close scrutiny, profiling is common now a days. It’s all started again hate towards others, might be in different magnitude but sort of similar the one we had in 1906, that time we had problem with colour of our skin this time we have problem with particular community and religion. But I still have little hope that sooner or later another Satyagrah will come to fight against this Jhootagrah which is present in today’s evil world and will help us to get out of this mess, mess created by our corrupt leaders and corrupt religious preachers.
